Should I Handwrite or Type My Bar Exam Essay and Performance Test Answers

Hi everyone, Dustin here from IPassedMyBarExam.com and author of number one Amazon bestseller The Seven Steps to Bar Exam Success. And someone asked me once short while ago: Should I use a computer or handwrite my essays on the Bar Exam?

You know, it is a mistake to not use a computer for the Bar Exam and my thought is this: that if-, you do what you feel most comfortable, if you like to handwrite, you’ve been doing that in Law school or you feel more comfortable doing that, you can write good essays and you have good handwriting, then go for it.

Do handwriting on your Exam. If you’re a computer person and you like to type, you like to, maybe you can probably type a little bit quicker you want to move stuff around like paragraphs or sentences and add on here and there, then go ahead and do typing, do whatever you feel most comfortable.

I have not heard of, you know, any kind of stat that says handwriters have a lower passing grade than typers or anything like that, I’ve never heard anything like that, I mean, I’ve been coaching and teaching and helping students for the last four-five years now, so do whatever you feel most comfortable with. If you’re going to handwrite just again make sure it’s clean and legible and also give yourself some spaces, so if you need to go over and re-add words or retype things in and rewrite things in, then you can go there and do that.

But make sure that whatever you do, do a lot of that in practice so you’re ready for on the Bar Exam. Either way if you’re planning on typing your Bar Exam it is a good idea it’s you handwrite of couple of Exams just to get to practice it. In case your computer crashes or your computer fails, you at least have done it in Prep a couple of times so you won’t freak out about it as much that happens on the Bar Exam.

I know some people out there they want to just do their handwriting just because they fear the computer, they fear a crash or the technology won’t work or something like that. You know, on the last Bar Exam there was a technology, you know fault so to speak, it wasn’t during the Bar but their Exams and that freaked a lot of people out, so it can cause some stress but generally speaking 99% of the time if you have a good computer and your computer that’s not going to happen, you’re not going to have an issue with the computer whether you’re typing or crashing or anything like that. It does happen every so often but generally speaking it doesn’t.

So don’t live based on that fear, but prepare yourself just in case by doing some handwriting. So that’s my thought on whether you should type or handwrite your Bar Exam so I hope you like this video, please click the like button and the share button if you find – if you know someone else that could find use of this, also head on over to IPassedMyBarExam.com/12 Keys to get your free PDF, The 12 Keys to Bar Exam Success and help you on your journey for a successful Bar Exam.
